JalShield Installation

Simple Installation. No Long Wiring Across Your Home.

JalShield is designed to make water-tank automation simple. The system uses two main units — a transmitter installed near the overhead water tank, and a receiver installed near the water pump. Both units communicate wirelessly, so there is no need to run a control wire from the rooftop tank all the way to the motor.

Two Simple Parts

How the Installation Works

Tank Side

Install the JalShield transmitter near the overhead water tank and position the three sensing wires at the required water levels.

Motor Side

Install the JalShield receiver near the water pump and connect it to the electrical supply and motor load.

Once both units are installed correctly, JalShield automatically controls the motor according to the water level in the tank.

Part 1

Install the Transmitter Near the Water Tank

Place the JalShield transmitter near/on the overhead water tank. The transmitter uses three sensing wires:

Maximum Water Level

Red Wire

Place the Red wire at the level where you want the motor to stop. When water reaches this level, JalShield sends the command to switch the motor OFF.

Minimum Water Level

Brown Wire

Place the Brown wire at the minimum water level. When the water falls below this point, JalShield sends the command to switch the motor ON.

Bottom / Reference Level

Black Wire

Place the Black wire near the bottom of the water tank. It acts as the reference point for the water-level sensing system.

Sensor Placement

Arrange the Wires Vertically Inside the Tank

Keep the sensing wires positioned properly so the system can detect the water levels correctly.

Brown — Minimum Level
Black — Bottom / Reference

Tank-Side Working

The Transmitter Continuously Monitors the Tank

Water falls below Brown → Motor turns ON automatically Tank begins filling → Water continues rising Water reaches Red → Motor turns OFF automatically

The cycle repeats automatically whenever required.

Part 2

Install the Receiver Near the Water Pump

The JalShield receiver should be installed close to the motor and electrical supply. The receiver has three main connection wires:

Line / Live

Red Wire

Connect the Red wire to the Line / Live electrical supply.

Neutral

Black Wire

Connect the Black wire to the Neutral supply.

Load

Blue Wire

Connect the Blue wire to the motor's load connection. The receiver then controls the motor according to commands received wirelessly from the transmitter.

Important Electrical Safety: The receiver works with mains electrical supply. Electrical connections should be made safely and correctly.

If you are not comfortable working with electrical wiring, use a qualified electrician or installer for the receiver-side connection. Always switch off the electrical supply before making or changing electrical connections.

No control wire needs to run from the rooftop tank to the motor. The transmitter and receiver communicate wirelessly — the transmitter stays near the tank, the receiver stays near the motor, and JalShield handles the communication between them automatically.
No pipes are connected to JalShield. It is an electrical water-management controller — the receiver controls the motor using electrical connections, and the transmitter senses the water level through its sensing wires, without connecting to any water pipe.
Step by Step

Installation Overview

1

Mount the JalShield transmitter near the overhead water tank.

2

Place the Black sensing wire near the bottom of the tank.

3

Place the Brown sensing wire at the desired minimum water level.

4

Place the Red sensing wire at the desired maximum water level.

5

Install the JalShield receiver near the motor.

6

Connect Red to Line, Black to Neutral, and Blue to the motor load connection.

7

Power the system and verify that the transmitter and receiver are operating correctly.

8

Test the system by checking motor ON operation at the minimum level and motor OFF operation at the maximum level.

Normal Operation

What Happens After Installation?

Once JalShield is correctly installed, normal operation becomes automatic.

Tank water becomes low — JalShield detects the minimum level.
↓
Motor automatically starts — the tank begins filling.
↓
Water reaches maximum level — JalShield detects the full level.
↓
Motor automatically stops.

You do not need to repeatedly check whether the tank is full or remember to manually switch the motor off.

Unit Placement

Where Should Each Unit Be Installed?

Transmitter

Near/on the overhead water tank. Keep it positioned properly and securely.

Receiver

Near the water pump and electrical supply. It should remain accessible for inspection and servicing.

Questions

Installation FAQs

Does JalShield require wiring from the rooftop tank to the motor?
No. The transmitter and receiver communicate wirelessly, so there is no need to run a control wire throughout the house.
Where is the transmitter installed?
The transmitter is installed near the overhead water tank.
Where is the receiver installed?
The receiver is installed near the water pump and electrical supply.
Which wire goes at the top of the tank?
The Red sensing wire is placed at the maximum water level.
Which wire controls when the motor starts?
When the water level falls below the Brown minimum-level wire, JalShield switches the motor ON.
Where does the Black wire go?
The Black sensing wire is placed near the bottom of the tank as the reference level.
When does the motor stop?
The motor automatically stops when the water reaches the Red maximum-level sensor.
Does JalShield connect to water pipes?
No. JalShield controls the motor electrically and senses water level through the transmitter wires.
Can I install it myself?
The tank-side sensing arrangement is designed to be straightforward. Because the receiver connects to mains electrical supply, the electrical connection should be handled carefully. If you are not experienced with mains wiring, use a qualified electrician or installer.
